Qualifications to start the course

Students must have five GCSEs including English, Mathematics and Science graded A* - C. Additional requirements for this subject: Students must have GCSE Bengali at grade B or above and have done Higher papers.

Description of the subject

The AQA AS and A2 course aims to develop the student’s skills in:

    • The use of language for practical purposes
    • Awareness of learning strategies and study skills
    • Experiencing Bengali literature and through this gaining an understanding of the moral and intellectual aspects of human life.

What you will do

The course is studied in five parts:

    • Oral (a) Conversation (b) Sign translation into English
    • Listening Listening, Comprehension and Summary
    • Translation (a) Translation into English (b) Translation into Bengali
    • Reading Reading comprehension
    • Writing (a) Composition (b) Background knowledge
